Robyn Rihanna - also known as Rihanna - is a Barbadian pop songwriter and singer. She has had hits like Pon de Replay, SOS umbrella, Take a Bow. A very successful artist still in the prime of her youth she has already sold more than 140 million records and 41 million tracks around the world, making her one of the top-selling performers ever. Born in Barbados, she grew up to love reggae and started singing in the midst of her childhood. After being disturbed by the turbulent nature of her household life, as well as her frequent fights with her father, she was absorbed with music. In the end, she discovered she was meant to be an accomplished professional. She formed a musical group while still in high school and got an opportunity to take part in an audition for music producer Evan Rodgers who was highly impressed by the teenager's talents. He requested for the teenager to be relocated into New York and pursue a professional singing career. Rihanna happily accepted. Rihanna soon became an international star when she released her debut album. The songs of Rihanna were top of the charts among teenagers, motivating her into film. Talented and young, Rihanna is now regarded as a teenage idol and fashion icon. Rihanna is also putting her fame to good use and has been active in many charitable causes
