Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and musician who made her name with smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. At college, she was studying the field of women's studies and journalism. Then, she even had an hour studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. However, it wasn't until she graduated when she decided to turn her attention towards music. The track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet in the year 2012. It was eventually included on the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also included other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The song was directly connected to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. She opted to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous projects, as an author and musician. Aside from early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP in Fina We Trust.
